12 Week Advanced Acting Course

The 12 week advanced acting course will have students go through only 1 assignment. This course is best designed to create a feature quality acting shot for your demo reel. You can either chose a dialogue to animate or chose a complex character interaction shot. 

 

During the course of 12 weeks, instructor will share their workflow live on video calls and teach concepts of acting and character building. Students will apply the concepts learned, in their own shots and each week this will be critiqued by the instructor. We will go from choosing a dialogue to shooting reference. Then successfully editing the reference and using that to create a believable acting performance shot as our final goal.

We recommend for the shot to be no longer than 8-10 seconds. We believe in quality over quantity. A short scene well done is a lot more valued than a complicated shot done in mediocrity. We also believe the recruiters and major studios are of this opinion and are looking for this in demo reels.

Live classes in this course include : Reference workflow, acting analysis, breaking down scenes, dynamic posing, facial and body appeal, lipsync, stepped blocking workflow, spline techniques and high quality polish. 

Course timeline: 

Week 1 - Dialogue selection and reference kick off

Week 2 - Reference locked and imported to scene

Week 3-6 - Blocking and block plus for shot work

Week 7-9 - Spline / full body animation.

Week 10-12 - Lipsync/Facial animation and final polish
